Brace yourself for some pretty shoddy camera work in this post! Usually my photographer boyfriend shoots all the photos you see on this site, so when I was invited along to the #LightsCameraCurrys Photography Class with pro tog Dade Freeman and the team at Joe Blogs, I was ecstatic (and borderline bricking it) learning some new tech skills. I'd never lifted up a DSLR camera before (aside from one or two mirror selfies with Neil's equipment - where most of the dirt on the mirror is in focus!) but everything you see here is all me practising my skills during the class. Not the best shots, but certainly not as bad as I thought either. Neil better watch out eh? ;)
Dade's aim of the day was to make all the Brighton bloggers more comfortable using manual settings on their DSLRs, and steer away from the routine Auto. He taught us all about ISO, aperture and shutter settings, and how all the settings differ for the type of shot or scenario you want to capture. After some delicious food and a handful of percy pigs, we set off to pap as much as we could find, putting our new learned skills to the test.
