If someone asked me what pattern/print is my absolute fave it would be tartan (in the Winter) followed by a close second gingham (in Spring/Summer).
Gingham is such a fresh, classic fabric that dates right back to the 17th century (did you know it used to be plain stripes, and has since evolved to be the check we know and love) bringing delight to farmhouse and country style homes. Commonly used for table cloths, napkins and curtains thanks to its durable, washable and affordable nature – I think gingham is one of the simplest style statements you can bring to a home.
Not just for home decoration, gingham is popular choice in fashion too – with Brigitte Bardot rocking gingham for her wedding dress (how cool is she!!) and the mods and rockers wearing gingham shirts. I often wear gingham too, see my dress there which I've literally owned for about 3 years!
I'd really like to introduce elements of gingham in to my modern farmhouse kitchen renovation when it finishes in September (due to start end of July!), so evidently I've found myself spending too much time scouring the shops for some gingham style home accessories that might work in our final look.
So, here are the best of gingham home accessories I've seen on my internet travels for you to marvel over with me!
