Ice Cream at Brighton Beach

The clocks have officially allowed it to be summer again. Brighter evenings = walks along Brighton beach and HEYUP! for the first time in 2014 my pasty white arms have seen daylight! Get in. Summer must be on its way.

I was ecstatic to see a little Cat-a-Cake creation land on my doorstep on Saturday morning, so thoughtfully wrapped too. There's nothing like waking up to receive a hand made piece of jewellery delicately encased in a tiny lace bag whilst you're monching on your bacon sarnie... So without further ado, I fled to the shores for a photo sesh armed with my new baby.

Only small independent companies and etsy sellers can make every purchase have a personal touch. The thought that goes into packaging is amazing, sweets and tissue paper galore. It's made me vow to buy more gifts for friends and family from local Etsy sellers; they give presents the wow factor my clumsy wrapping never can.

I was gifted this beautiful hand designed laser cut Ice Cream necklace from the kind folks at Cat-a-Cake and took it on it's maiden voyage in true Brighton style, on a sunny walk by the sea. Claire, the brains behind the cutting has a really whimsical, growing collection of seaside finds. This stunning brochure  shows the whole collection (and the retro photo shoot makes me swoon, gah!) I think you'll be asking the same question once you've had a click through.. WHEN can I get my hands on a Jamie Dodger necklace!? How cute are they?

Claire also runs a popular crafts fair here in Brighton, called The Fairy Tale Fair. Set out in Patcham, the next event's on April 12th from 10am showcasing over 35 craft and vintage stalls, a vintage tea room, Easter workshops and much much more. It makes for a great trip out with the family, so I encourage you all to pop out and say hello!

Keep up the beautiful work Claire & the team :)
