When it comes to choosing a kitchen supplier, Benchmarx is a household name, synonymous with solid quality and a great range of top designs. They offer 11 stunning ranges with tonnes of customisation options, from colours to appliances and cabinet shapes. So, it makes total sense that you’d want to consider them if you’re planning a kitchen, but first, you need to figure out if Benchmarx will fit into your budget.

Much like Howdens, you’ll be pretty hard pushed to find a price list or even ballpark figure on their website. This is for much the same reason as Howdens. Let us explain.

Why You Won't Find a Benchmarx Kitchens Price List

When you’re narrowing down your list of which companies could be the right one to provide your kitchen, you want to be able to run a quick search and get a rough figure so you can either include or dismiss each company. Unfortunately, this just won’t happen with Benchmarx.

But if you spend a couple of minutes understanding why and read on to learn how you can still get a price (there are just a couple more steps involved) then you might be really glad you stuck at it to be able to consider Benchmarx in your shortlist.

Benchmarx work mainly with the trades

If you’re anything like us, hearing that a company you want to buy products from only works with the trades can be super disappointing (as a homeowner who isn’t a tradesperson). But that doesn’t mean you have to discount Benchmarx as your kitchen supplier, you just need to find the right person to work with. This could be anyone from a builder to an interior designer or kitchen fitter, people you will very likely be working with anyway. There’s no need to scout out someone specifically just to work with Benchmarx. Plus, luckily, this can often translate into getting a competitive total price.

Basically, ‘your’ kitchen gets sold first to said tradesperson and then onto you. Nothing dodgy, it’s just the way Benchmarx and Howdens sell their kitchens.

Geographical price variations

You start your Benchmarx journey by approaching your local branch where you can discuss dimensions and flesh out a design.

Each branch works closely with you as the homeowner and liases with the tradesperson, meaning you get personal service directly with actual people which can really make a difference.

This means that pricing isn’t universal between branches and may change to reflect where you are in the country which makes sense really. They have 140 branches so you’re sure to find one near you.

Finance options

It’s worth noting that Benchmarx do offer finance if you really want their price to work for you but you’re struggling foot the total straight up. They can do interest-free agreements on kitchens up to £50k but obviously, there are terms and conditions attached to that.

Guide prices can be unhelpful

Let’s be honest. The numbers you get on a quick web search can help you to understand if a company is in your budget bracket, but they really don’t apply to your own individual kitchen needs.

Total kitchen costs vary wildly depending on the size and style of the kitchen design you want, not to mention the number of cabinets, integrated appliances, worktop, even handles. So, until you’ve nailed down your desired kitchen design, ballpark figures can only help you so far.

Given that Benchmarx offer a free consultation, you’re better off putting a little time in to know exactly what your kitchen would cost.

How to get a Benchmarx kitchen price

Step 1 - Find someone in the trades to supply your kitchen

Like we mentioned earlier in this post, you’re going to need to go through a tradesperson to be able to work with Benchmarx. If you don’t already have a kitchen fitter, interior design, architect or builder on your renovation team who you really trust, make sure you take the time to do your research and find the right contractor. Not only will this help the kitchen purchase run smoothly but the whole project.

Step 2 - Get your kitchen budgeting right

We go on and on about the importance of budgets in a home renovations, but we really can’t stress it enough. A renovation budget spreadsheet can and probably will be an absolute lifesaver, partly so you don’t run out of funds mid-way through but also so you can informed decisions about the project before you even start work. From here, you’ll have a really good idea of what you can actually afford. If you go to Benchmarx with your budget, they should be able to help find a kitchen within your price range and suggest different designs of appliances to make it work.

Step 3 - Get an actual quote from your tradesperson

As well as the quote for the price of your Benchmarx kitchen, you’ll need to consider the extra costs that will contribute to the total. These include the cost of your tradesperson (whether it’s design or fitting etc), their commission with Benchmarx, fitting costs and even any necessary furnishings which you’ll need to finish the room. Only once you’re armed with a full quote can you make an informed decision.

Step 4 - Access the Fifi McGee guide

If you’re new to what Fifi McGee offers, it’s worth checking out Fi’s fantastic guide on How to Design and Order a Kitchen. That way, you can get well on your way on the kitchen journey by figuring out your own design and layout that you’ll be getting quotes for and also avoid the common pitfalls along the way.

Now it’s up to you…

We hope we’ve helped you to understand why Benchmarx doesn’t list its prices online. But, more importantly, we hope we’ve equipped you with the know-how to be able to get a price so you can get to work on the kitchen renovation of your dreams.
