My home resolutions for 2017

If you haven't reflected on your wins and fails over the past year, give yourself 10 mins to do this before 2017 is here.

In a world where we are constantly encouraged to look ahead, we forget how important it is to reflect on how far we've come.

This time last year,  I shared a blog post with a list of home decoration resolutions I wanted to achieve in 2016.

Did I achieve them?

I found myself in a circumstance I thought was at least 5 years away from.

Last year I made a list of all the things I wanted to do to my flat but within 6 months, there I was moving into No 42, an actual house,  and finally getting the fixer upper I used to dream about.

Whatever you decide you want to achieve in the new year, don't beat yourself up if you can't commit to it.

The chances are you have a whole new exciting path to go down regardless.

With this I want to share the main home decoration related things I want to achieve this year, but who knows what curve balls will be thrown at me. Bring it on...

In 2017 I will...

1. Launch my new interior business

This is the first on the list for a reason. It's a big one for me.

After many years of longing to help people decorate their homes in a way that speaks to them as a couple, family or lone dweller, I have just launched an online interior classes business called Kindred Living. Designed to help people make their homes a place of warmth, happiness and togetherness.

This year I have made it my mission to help 100 people design the beautiful home (or room) they deserve. Will you join me? Register if you'd like to be a part of it

2. Design & project manage my dream kitchen diner

Since moving in to No 42, the mother of all renovations, we've been saving for our dream kitchen diner.

It will be a big undertaking which will see us knock down a wall or two, raise the roof, reposition the kitchen, install a new downstairs loo, and move out of the house for the 3 months it will take to complete.

I am ready and so excited for this.

3. Redesign my home office

I handed in my notice at my job to take on this new business venture and manage happenings at the house, so in 2017 it will be super important for me to have a workspace that is comfortable and inspiring to work in.

I plan to set myself a really tight budget decorating it so that I can share tips for inspirational decoration when the purse strings are tight.

Wish me luck!

4. Buy a new super cosy perfect bed

This has made my resolutions lost because money is going all into the kitchen diner renovation meaning there's temporarily no spends for all other rooms of the house.

I've always had an upholstered bed on my wish list, I've got to make this year the year it happens.

What decoration resolutions do you have for 2017?

I would love to help. Have a read of Kindred Living and register if it's your thing. Let's decorate our homes together :)

Happy New Year!
