The collaboration of the year? Morris & Co + H&M

Morris & Co / H&M

Morris & Co / H&M

If you know me in real life or have been reading my blog for a little while you'll probably have heard me banging on about how much I adore William Morris' designs at some point.

From our visits to Standen House where some of his original fabrics and wallpapers line the walls of the rooms, to the tasteful modern takes on his patterns I shared in my afternoon tea with Spode post, I love the new and the old Morris designs. And I get so inspired by his work, both visual and written.

It surprised me so much when I heard that Morris & Co were soon to collaborate with H&M (the collection launches today - 4th October).

On one hand I felt like it could be commercialising his designs bringing them so front and centre on the high street, but on another hand, it makes Morris' luxurious designs more affordable for the masses - and art is a thing of beauty all should be given access to, not reserved for those who can easily pay £500+ to have wallpaper in Morris prints.

Needless to say, like everything Morris & Co preserve and choose to collaborate on, they have hit this new collection spot on with womenswear, menswear and accessories that are a beautiful nod to Morris' legacy and celebrate his work.

What’s more I think H&M have done a wonderful job in staying true to the heritage of the Morris & Co brand, and I adore the photography, styling and videos they’ve worked on to launch the collection every bit as much as I love the actual clothes.

What do I want to try on? These are going straight in my basket…

Morris & Co and H & M hits stores on the 4th October 2018.

Not a sponsored post, I just adore this collaboration and had to share it with you.
