This course was just what we needed to demystify the world of renovation and give us a clear action plan when tackling our project. In fact we wish we'd found it sooner!

As newbie renovators, taking on a dauntingly big first time project, How to Renovate a House offered everything we needed in one place, in simple plain terms. Before we started the seemingly unknown cost was making us really nervous but the tips in the course helped us achieve a lot of clarity and gave us confidence that we could make the right compromises to bring our project in on budget. We wish we'd accessed the course earlier in our journey as we might have been able to save on architect fees by following the Layout module. A really great course and an absolute bargain given the savings we'll make over the long run as a result. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

As I’ve progressed through the course I’ve found myself saying to my husband “it’s worth for xxx” It started with the budget planner, floor planning, then I found my style, colour theme, planning contractors and timings..... it just goes on and on. We have definitely avoided costly mistakes. What’s more I feel inspired and loving dipping and out of the course as I progress my ideas whilst in lock down. “We bought a family house that needed fully refurbishing before moving in. I have refurbished some flats previously, so I had a bit of experience and decided I could manage it myself but I soon found I was out of my depth and struggling.

I came across Fifi McGee online course once we had already begun refurbishing and it has really helped me in numerous ways to manage the project and get the best results. Time is precious and the course is not too long.

The information and advice have been refined and are presented in a way that is easy to understand and put into practice. There are links for more information whenever you need it but there is sufficient in the course and crucially not too much. I have found the budget planner immensely useful and this was the first thing I put into practice.

There were so many things I had not thought of and this helped me to capture these costs. The budget planner also highlighted how much we were overbudget and encouraged us to examine every expense and make savings.

Finding our style was fun and useful. The Colour Swatch module really helped me with decorating and choosing colours - how do you choose when there are 22,000 colours and you want something pastel – this course showed me how.

I would say the Fifi McGee course is the best money I have spent on our renovation because it has made the project so much more enjoyable and saved me so much money.”

“My husband didn't think it would be worth it as "it's not a "renovation" it's just a lick of paint". I disagreed - we're converting a garage and knocking a structural wall down - and bought it anyway from my 'pocket money'!! :D The budgetting spreadsheet is very helpful, we probably wouldn't have done it in so much detail otherwise, and we've decided together on a name for our style - cosy coastal - which has really helped us to feel more on the same page about things as I would tend to be the one doing more design choices, but really want it to be joint decisions!”
