If you’re wondering how much a Tom Howley kitchen costs, then you might be interested in this new series. We’re exploring kitchen costs from a range of affordable, mid range and high end suppliers to help you compare Tom Howley kitchen costs to high street suppliers. See our other posts covering:

Tom Howley kitchens are considered by many in the industry as the creme de la creme of British-made kitchens. They are known for being on the pricier end of the scale when it comes to the total cost, but, if your budget permits, you absolutely get what you pay for.

The main reason for Tom Howley kitchen costs being higher than your average high street retailer is that you get a totally different kitchen and service.

Tom Howley use high-quality timbers across their range and use luxury materials for worktops etc as well as appliances from high-end brands so your kitchen will be a wise investment for years to come.

Unlike IKEA kitchen costs, Tom Howley base their pricing on the entire kitchen, not by individual unit or component, which is why it’s so hard to find a price. So you’ll only be able to get a solid figure on how much a Tom Howley kitchen costs by going through them for a quote. However, there are a number of key factors that go into the total cost to help you understand what the cost reflects and what kind of range it might be in for you.

So, the big question is… What goes into the total cost of a Tom Howley kitchen?

Planning a kitchen is tough as it is, so we hope our supplier information helps you! Or get the full low down on our home renovation to help guide you through yours.

1. Starting prices

When working out the total quote, the folks at Tom Howley have a base price that serves as the approximate bottom line (or cheapest possible kitchen) on top of which all the other costs specific to your design will be added to give the total.

The minimum is usually around £35,000, but you can expect your final cost to be significantly higher than this once everything else is added on.

However, if the starting price rules Tom Howley out of your options due to budget constraints (or even if it would be a push to afford anything over that amount) then it’s worth looking elsewhere.

2. Choice of design range

Most Tom Howley kitchens work around Shaker-style designs, but they do have different ranges which reflect different price points.

Whether you go for Hartford, Devine, Harrington, Summerville, Butler or Kavanagh, the price will vary as there are different aspects of craftsmanship and construction in each design.

Whilst no one range is distinctively cheaper or more expensive than the other, it’s worth noting that there will be a difference if you opt for something more complicated.

3. Choice of materials

Tom Howley offer a fantastic range of ways to make your kitchen reflect your own personal style including kitchen pulls, taps, other hardware, basins, paint shades and appliances (which we’ll talk about later in this post).

You can even choose from a gorgeous range of high-quality stone work surfaces, again, each with their own price points.

Depending on your choices, the different materials and styles used will reflect the overall price quoted. So, if you want a Tom Howley kitchen for less, you can start by looking at the cheaper choices for hardware and other materials.

4. Size & layout

Logically, the bigger the kitchen, the higher the total price will be.

In interviews, Tom Howley has also shouted about the usefulness and value of having an island in your kitchen, so you’d be silly not to consider one in your overall kitchen layout. Also, if you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know we’re massive fans of both kitchen islands and pantries/larders. While they’re amazing features of any kitchen layout, they’ll bump up the total cost of a kitchen and that’s worth remembering if you go with Tom Howley. Maybe you can save on the total by working these into your layout and having less cabinets or maybe they’ll add more to the end total. It’s worth asking for quotes both with and without to weigh up your options.

5. Choice of appliances

The appliances that you choose in a Tom Howley kitchen can make a huge difference in the overall price.

Tom Howley usually work with leading brands like Mielle, Neff, Sub-Zero and Wolf which tend to be on the pricier end of the scale but this also creates an opportunity to get the price a bit lower if you go for more budget-friendly appliances.

If you’re conscious of keeping to a strict budget, it might also pay to sit down and be honest with yourself about which appliances you actually need in a kitchen and which ones are just frivolous. Do you really need that double oven?

6. Warranty included

Of course, Tom Howley kitchens come with a warranty to cover the excellent craftsmanship and ensure the longevity of your new kitchen.

They currently offer a 10 year warranty across every range mentioned above.

Whilst this is a little shorter than competitor warranties, you know you’ll be covered for a full decade and it’s all included in the quoted price. You can rest assured that quality of the kitchen will speak for itself so you shouldn’t expect to be using the warranty any time soon, unlike with some budget options.

7. British made as standard

Here at Fifi McGee, we always celebrate British made products and companies.

Tom Howley kitchens are exclusive made in the UK, which is wonderful but also explains why the price is somewhat higher than something mass-made overseas.

This might be counterintuitive, as surely the smaller shipping distance and local labour would mean it’s cheaper. But labour is generally better paid in Britain than in other countries (which means your kitchen would be more ethically sound) and you can rest assured knowing you’re building the national economy.

So how much does a Tom Howley kitchen cost?

We’ve heard on the grapevine of finished Tom Howley kitchens coming in at £60k and £80k, which isn’t surprising given the immaculate level of craftsmanship and high end materials that go into each kitchen. But the truth of the matter is that you can’t really estimate how much a Tom Howley kitchen would cost in your own home as they quote on a bespoke basis. Having said that, we’ve given some handy ballpark figures so you can decide whether Tom Howley is suited to your budgeting if it’s worth pursuing a quote from them.
