How much do DIY Kitchens cost?
When it comes to kitchens, DIY Kitchens are the cool kid on the block and are up there with the best budget-friendly options on the market. We love them! DIY Kitchens provide a smashing range of designs and styles which are very on-trend, made in Britain, of solid quality and are known for being super competitive on price. If you haven’t already heard of them, you’ve probably seen them in the kitchens of your favourite Instagram interiors influences thinking they’re a high-end product (like Stephanie’s gorgeous kitchen extension above). We hear SO many great DIY Kitchens reviews, we had to take a closer look.
The reason behind the budget-friendly reputation is that, much like IKEA kitchens, DIY Kitchens make savings on bits like fittings and bespoke design, but you still get an awful lot of bang for your buck. But, as always, starting prices can be a little misleading when you account for all the other bits and bobs that make up the final price.
So how much does a DIY Kitchens kitchen cost? Here are some things to consider…
Starting price
With over 200 door styles, colours and finish combinations to choose from, you’re definitely going to see prices that could climb, but it does also mean there’s plenty of opportunity for picking cheaper or more expensive options to suit your taste and budget.
The ‘Cento’ range in the ‘Modern’ category comes in cheapest at £1,141. + VAT which is for an L-shape configuration of units and Shaker kitchens like the one pictured here are £1,237 + VAT for the same run of units. The other six ranges follow at a few hundred pounds more. Not bad starting prices if you ask us.
Price matching
DIY Kitchens are known for priding themselves on seriously competitive price points, which is why they also offer a price matching promise. And we quote… ‘If you find any like for like products cheaper elsewhere, we will beat it’. But bear in mind this is at their discretion so don’t make big decisions relying on this before it’s approved.
To go through the price matching process, you process your shopping cart as usual and then add the details of the comparable product in the the section for extra notes and information. No money is taken at this stage, instead, it goes through to the sales team who then alter the price and send it back over to you before taking payment.

Additional costs
As with some other kitchen retailers, DIY Kitchens only actually do the doors under their own brand name. Other kitchen components like sinks, taps, appliances, worktops and other accessories will fluctuate in price.
The good news is, DIY Kitchens work with some seriously reputable brands so you can design up or down to suit you and your needs. Choose a big, fancy range cooker and flashy worktops or go for something subtle and understated and pay one delivery fee.
What we really like about this is that you can also mix and match. So, buy the units alone and find your worktop for another retailer if this fits better with your budget and taste.
Design
Some of the kitchen brands that we’ve covered previously, such as Devol and Neptune, come with a design service so you get the full professional service.
By contrast, DIY Kitchens, as with IKEA, have a nifty new kitchen planner so you can do the whole thing yourself and see what the finished thing will look like, too. This means you can design your kitchen bespoke to your every whim and fancy.

Delivery
To save you the effort of hiring a van and shifting flat packs around, DIY Kitchens offer delivery. The cost sits at £99 + VAT which is for a standard two person service.
This involves dropping the units off onto your property and the destination must be no more than 6 steps, 20 meters and to the ground floor only.
If your property isn’t so easily accessible, you might want to factor in the cost of getting someone to then transport the packaged units into the kitchen or call in favours from mates. A kitchen delivery is gigantic! Be prepared.
Assembly
The total price you’re quoted includes units in ‘fitted’ form meaning they’re all put together with drawers etc fitted so each unit is already constructed, so to speak. So, you’re saving energy on building them yourself as you would with flatpack units and the cost is already built into that.
However, this still leaves installation. As DIY Kitchens only provide the assembly and delivery stages, you’ll need to either fit the units yourself or hire a joiner to do it for you. Make sure you get some quotes beforehand or brush up on your self-fitting skills so you can factor the additional cost into your overall budget. Don’t underestimate how hard it can be to fit a kitchen. Even the best designed units can end up looking lacklustre if they aren’t fitted correctly and you don’t want any issues later down the line.
Guarantee
We’ve spoken a lot about the different warranties and guarantees available in this series of kitchen price explorations and, at the end of the day, it could well be a huge factor in your finally decision of kitchen supplier. We totally get it, you want to protect your investment long term!
Luckily, DIY Kitchens offer a 25 year guarantee on all kitchens so you know you’re protected for a long, long time.
Estimated cost
It’s only fair that we give you lovely folks a nice, neat ballpark figure to help you decide whether DIY Kitchens is worth pursuing.
Word on the street is that the price of an average size kitchen generally comes in at around £2,500. But we’ve already heard of prices going up to £6,000 for big, complex designs in more expensive ranges.
Still, the competitive prices might just make your dream kitchen achievable!
