Ways we seek to continuously improve Fifi McGee
It’s been a wild ride building our blog and community over the years.
We’ve come a long way since those first tentative steps, finding our purpose and delivering help and inspiration to tens of thousands of home owners every month.
We’re big believers in “don’t just pin it, do it” and that’s why everything we share on the Fifi McGee blog and within our community, exists to help home lovers create their dream home vision, as well as the planning needed to make it happen.
We're always on the lookout for ways to improve what we offer so that we can help readers tackle their home improvement projects with complete confidence. Here are some of the key ways we strive for continuous improvement.

We send surveys out to our community
Our Happy Home Club is our thriving newsletter community full of home decor lovers. It was launched last year and we send fortnightly emails to our club members, bringing home hacks, tricks, and tips to help keep your home life running beautifully! Earlier this year we sent a survey to gather feedback from our community about how we are doing, whether they like what they’re receiving, what more they’d like to see...
It was so interesting for us to learn what our readers are loving and what they want to see more of.
We listened and embedded their feedback into Happy Home Club emails to ensure that we’re delivering the best value and avoiding wasted effort on our part.
We actually USE our own products
The reason we ever launched our renovation online course and digital planners for renovators was because these were the tools that saved us during our renovation.
We continue to use them, too. Earlier this year we walked through our whole online course modules to get clear on our bedroom renovation plans from costing up the project, to determining layouts, design and more. Whilst the bedroom renovation has stopped due to the current crisis (obviously tradesmen can’t enter the property) we have continued using the course to optimise the finer points of the design.
Doing our own course was not only useful to us to understand our requirements and make the bedroom project as successful as it can be, but it also meant we have been able to iterate and add further value into the modules as we learn more and more about this fast moving industry.
Fi is studying interior design
Fi has been working in the interior sector for 7 years and has a natural enthusiasm and flair for design. However, in order to bring even more value to both our audience and her own career, she started a more formal interior design course spanning a period of 6 months which she works on currently.
When this is complete, Fi will be an official interior designer bringing a new way to support our community. She has launched an interior design service for anyone who may be interested in working on a more 1-on-1 level – and to try out her new skills working with individuals on their projects.
We ask for feedback and review it regularly
After every launch of a new product, and when the students of our renovation online course complete each module, we request feedback, seeking to implement suggestions to improve resources for our current and future students. We’ve recently received two suggestions in particular that have resulted in improvements to our course resources – one is adding features to the tool we share that helps people cost up their projects. It’s amazing what a hive of knowledge and learning the community is and we’re eternally grateful for all of the feedback we receive.
We’re constantly developing our free downloadable guides and content on this website
We often get emails from people who have found our website thanking us for sharing our story (the pleasure is ours!) and requesting information or advice. We try to use their questions as a spring board for the content we share on here – if they are experiencing anxiety or fears of going over budget or making mistakes, it’s likely other readers are experiencing similar concerns. Having a lot of experience doing our own renovation, working with students in the online course, and constantly researching our sector, we’re able to produce articles and guides to help you tackle issues that arise.
…and there’s so much more to come!
We have a long, long, long list of free guides, resources, and articles that are currently in the making to further support you in making your home what you want it to be. So be sure to bookmark our website and regularly come and visit us.
