This week... a Gumtree home bargain, a trip to a very christmassy place in Sussex and a very bad paint job. Boo. 

Just before the autumn leaves disappear and the winter sets in, Neil and I managed to squeeze in our annual autumn photoshoot :)

Last week was probably one of the first weekends since we moved to No. 42 where we found a day we could go and explore the woods and fields out the back of our house – and not do DIY! Hooray.

A weekly update on the renovation project & life in general

Me and Neil were chatting about paint colours for No. 42 the other day. I asked him which wall sample he preferred in each of the rooms and he replied:

"I don't mind, as long as the whole house isn't grey. These samples all look grey"

Oopsy!

Progress at No. 42 is going steady. We're almost complete on the plastering of 2 rooms, living room and first bedroom, so we've set ourselves high goals to have these both complete by Christmas (sounds too good to be true given they look like this right now)

I found myself flicking through the pages of Issue Twenty-One of Kinfolk magazine when I came across this new term I hadn't heard of before. 

Hemmablind. 

The direct translation is: "blind to flaws of the home". 

From now until December 2017, inspiring places like this will become my office.

Our grantastic to fantastic house renovation hit a new rock bottom last week.

Our budget spreadsheet told me we'd hit £10,000 on outgoings doing up the house so far, yet when I look around the place looks worse than when we moved in.

Updates on our renovation! It's been a while since I've blogged about it all because I've been up to my elbows in wallpaper.

So where are we at 8 weeks on? A heating system is installed. Finally!

Having lived here for almost 4 weeks now we're beginning to get a better feel for how we want the house to look and work practically.
